The Council aims to champion the cybersecurity profession across the U.K. by delivering thought leadership, career tools and education resources to the sector and those seeking a career in the industry.

A big focus of the Council is education and academia. Natanson states that it’s imperative to influence educational curriculums and the thinking behind them “to make sure that we are preparing generations not just now, but in the future, to be relevant and able to take on the battle.”

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group, Natanson discusses:

  • An overview of the new U.K. Cyber Security Council and its aims;

  • Building a more diverse and inclusive cybersecurity workforce – the challenges and how to overcome them;

  • The capabilities needed immediately and into the future to redress the cyber skills shortage.
